The Cleaning Biz - Summer Party

Friday was The Cleaning Biz summer party which always takes place at the very wonderful Mayfly pub near Stockbridge in Hants.   Why?   Because it is half way between London and Somerset where my business partner lives.

Here's a photo which shows how we were blessed with great weather, gorgeous riverside location with reeds, ducks and swans, and a lovely lunch, so much so I forgot to get my camera out until most of us had gone home - here we still are at 5 p.m. enjoying a nice cup of tea.

Left to Right after me are Rona (Bath), Janine (Shepherds Bush), Sally (Shoreham & Worthing), Annie (Bognor Regis), Janet (Bristol) and Marijke (Twickenham).   The photographer was Emma (Fulham) and I came home with a pair of rather unattractively burned wrists and hands!

Didn't we have a lovely time, the day we went to Stockbridge?

Entrepreneur People - Real Stories

I was interviewed this evening by Sherry Borzo for her show on BlogTalkRadio called Entrepreneur People - Real Stories about real people that teach lessons in business and in life.   I am proud to tell you I was Sherry's first Brit!   Sherry is based in Iowa which reminds me from one of my favourite quotes from Field of Dreams..."is this Heaven?   No, it's Iowa".   Should have asked Sherry if she'd seen Kevin and his field.

Entrepreneur Success Tips

Following on from my previous posting, here are a few success strategies which I have seen my clients use in their businesses to good effect.   People work in myriad different ways which is great, and I get to observe other people doing it their way and to see what works for them so I can share it with you. 

Although the control freak in me often erroneously thinks my way is best, happily clients prove me wrong all day long and equally I am happy just to have faciliitated their success.   It doesn't matter how they get where they want to be, just so long as they do.

These tactics have mainly been exhibited by business owners I work with in The Cleaning Biz where I help them to achieve the results they want financially by running their own small business which also just happens to be a branch of mine.   And I see these success strategies replicated all over in all types of business.   They will also work in yours.

Clean Communication Skills for Business Owners

A few weeks back, I was interviewed by fellow coach Barbara Bradbury for her podcast.   Barbara is a relationship coach; relationships with your colleagues, your family, your friends, your spouse - you name it, and she advocates clean communication as a way of improving relationships.   Rock on.

Barbara asked me about how we use good communications within The Cleaning Biz, and we have an interesting chat for about 10-15 minutes all around the topic.   If you are a human being, there's something to learn here.   If you are a business person, it's vital.   If you are a client or a cleaner or an existing or potential licensee of The Cleaning Biz, it's essential listening.

I trust that I am learning to communicate more cleanly every day, it's a challenge and I'm up for it and it's definitely my intention and looking round Barbara's site strengthens that resolve today.   Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Channelling the Jamminess

This is the story of Anonymous Podholder, someone I like very much, who became a new licensee of The Cleaning Biz earlier this year.   Things didn't go great immediately.   This is quite normal, but I could tell that my new friend was becoming disheartened.   

AP came to the TCB Summer Party and we had a lovely day out, good fun, good laughs, shared learning, and I lent her two out of the four CDs of The Secret to listen to in her car on her way home to North London.   The Law of Attraction is relatively new to my pal, although Ask And It Is Given had dropped off a bookshelf in a book shop only the day before.   Of course it had.
