EFT: Design Your Destiny - Judith & Ann Ross on BlogTalkRadio

Listen to me interviewing Ann Ross today on Blog Talk Radio!   Find out how Ann's next EFT weekend in London on 10th and 11th May 2008 can help us release fears and live a life of choice.   Ann firmly believes that this easy and effortless tool will change our lives for the better.   We CAN be, do and have everything we want.   More details on our website TapToTheTop.

    Driving Miss Judith

Beetle_cabrio Those lovely folks over at 50+ Life Design asked me to write something for their blog which would inspire the over Fifties.   Yikes, there's a challenge, and quite bizarre actually. I dont know about you, but although it says I qualify on my passport, frankly I still dont believe it.   It comes as something of an affront.

Anyway I wrote something about buying my first convertible car for my 50th birthday - so if you are fifty plus, in need of some inspiration of just love a good story or convertible cars, you can read it here.

New Year's Resolutions - The Triple Whammy

Seacon_2 Surely everyone begins the new year with some core New Year's Resolutions which can usually be tied back, loosely speaking, to the Seven Deadly Sins and our desire (albeit subliminal) to be "good".  My own three are:

    •    Eat less (gluttony)
    •    Exercise more (sloth)
    •    Spend less (greed)

I am thrilled to be able to tell you that I have conquered all three of these this week - yeehah!

Reduce Stress at Work - Go It Alone!

Stress It's official - it's better for your health to work for yourself!

According to a little piece in The Times today about Office Health in Ten Easy Steps:

"Ok, so it's a big step, but research indicates that people who take the plunge and become self-employed report a higher level of job satisfaction and less stress. A study last year in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology found that self-employed people had greater autonomy and less job pressure than those in big organisations."

Not that you need to be a rocket scientist to work that out!   But anyway, it's nice to have it confirmed.

    Living with Less

Yesterday, I endured and enjoyed a visit from the Clutter Clearer, the assertive Annya.   While she did acknowledge me as one of her easiest and most motivated clients ever, i.e. I did most of the work, it was both exhausting and energising.

I met her at the tube station and whisked her home and we started right in - books, shoes, clothes, office, cupboard under the stairs, kitchen cupboards, etc.

    Stress Management

As I was leaving the office yesterday, I said to a colleague "right, I'm off home - oh no, I'm not, I'm going for a float" and went onto explain to Sally that it was essential stress management, whereupon she replied "You don't look stressed, or if you are, you disguise it well".  Thanks, Sally.

But actually, perhaps I don't look stressed, or don't display it because I invest so much in managing my stress.   And actually, again, perhaps Sally hasn't been around when Vesuvious was exploding.  Look out everone, molten lava from all sides!

    Extreme Self Care (again!)

Extreme Self-Care is one of my favourite things.   Last week's treats included going to the dental hygienist (alright, that's not a treat exactly but it is essential ESC), a haircut and my monthly visit to the beautician.   This week's treats including swimming, a massage, a manicure and my regular monthly appointment with the osteopath who I can credit with bringing my knees back to full, pain-free health, hence the return to swimming too.   And today I booked three floats over the next six weeks.

So tell me, what are YOU doing to look after yourself?

    The Cowardly Lion

I'm like him, from the Wizard of Oz.   Well, not quite such a shivering wreck, but I am a terrible physical coward.   I don't like the thought of anything which might hurt.   I won't travel to anywhere that requires me to have an injection, for instance.   I don't want to walk Tony Robbins' fire, or go ski-ing, or break planks with my bare hands, or go to the dental hygienist.   But I do.   In fact, I've been today.

    My February of Least Resistance

At the Personal Development Expo over the weekend I spent a relaxing and restorative few moments practicing Sahaja Yoga Meditation with a nice man who made me take my shoes off and reminded me that all of life is energy.   And that we don't control much, so perhaps it would make more sense to tune into that energy, and go with the flow more.

Hmm.   Now that's somewhat of a conflict for me, a traditional driver - he was reminding me again to dance more which is also very, very appealing.   And when I experimented with relaxing and doing less once before in August 2004, it was a very successful and comfy month indeed.

    Deadlines - Stress or Success?

Deadlines don't half ramp up our stress levels, don't you find?

Is this a good thing, or a bad?   This morning my alarm woke me at 7.45 as I was due to enjoy a day at the Spa at 9.30.   I rather madly decided to place an online order at Sainsburys which I hadn't budgeted for in this timeframe, but I knew it would save me time tomorrow (my nephews are coming for Spag Bol on Fireworks Night). Then the design chap phoned wanting to discuss his overnight work for the Wealth Conference next weekend, deadline looming.   And I had to pay the Congestion Charge because I was taking the car into town.   Then the other designer who is signwriting my car hadn't sent the designs for my approval overnight as promised and he's supposed to be fitting it tomorrow, also in time for the Conference.
