Stealth Helping

One of my favourite clients and I work together on a project we call Stealth Helping.

I am not sure which of us labelled it thus, but it is a concept which brings us both a great deal of pleasure.   Let me explain it further to you, and see if you aren't inspired to join in our project.   In a way, its a very close relative of Paying It Forward.

Its about helping people for the sheer joy of it, expecting nothing in return and often without these people even knowing they have been helped, or helped by you at any rate.

There are various circumstances in your life where you are in a position to give someone else a leg up but they don't ask for help, or perhaps even know you are in a position to help them.   Wouldn't that be great?   To know you have made it easier for someone else...It just gives you a small warm glow, and its fun.

There's a sense in which it is the Universe playing through us, and as such we can be connected to our Universal power.   Its a way of giving thanks for how fortunate we feel we are, of celebrating our ability to give and to share.   And because the helping is stealthy and silent, your recipient cannot become reliant on you for all their legs-up, or expect it.   Its a simple, magical gift from your own abundance.

If you could wave a magic wand or twitch your nose and someone else could benefit in a way you would enjoy - who would you help, and why?

And in a wider sense, when others get used to being helped and realising that some things do come for free, or there is good in others, or lots of lovely other old-fashioned concepts like that, don't you think the word is going to spread?   And won't that turn our world into a much nicer place!

What a great concept and how different it is to the idea of "what's in it for me".

I remember watching an episode of Friends once, where Phoebe was challenged to help others, without getting anything in return.

I can't remember the detail, but the gist was that she always benfitted in some way from her actions.

However, what you're saying goes a step further and says that the act of helping is a reward in itself.

Helping people without them noticing is a real art, but surely one that's worth taking the time to acquire.

For all the times I've been helped by others without even realising it, thank you one and all.
